Handwriting Workshop
To emphasise the factors that contribute to effective handwriting practice and to develop strong handwriting skills.
For Schools
Why is Handwriting important?
The ability to form letters correctly, with legibility and speed, ultimately leads to automaticity. Until this is achieved there is a cognitive demand on a pupil’s working memory as the focus is on the physical act of letter production rather than the content itself.
It is crucial to develop proficient handwriting skills at an early age to avoid the formation of ingrained, unfavourable habits that may prove challenging to rectify in the future.

“My son was constantly berated for poor handwriting at school and was tearful, refusing to go into school each morning. Caroline calmly took him into her care and worked on his confidence first. His teachers are amazed at the transformation! We now have a self-confident little boy, who is very happy to write. He’s recently been nominated for the Progress Prize in his School year group. Something we never anticipated! ”
