How can I support my child’s Numeracy at home?
Numeracy encompasses the understanding that a child needs to be able to use numbers proficiently across a wide range of situations. A child uses their numerical knowledge to make sense of their world and to establish connections between these concepts and their everyday experiences. It entails applying the Maths principals learnt in school to real-life situations that necessitate problem solving, critical thinking and the ability to make sense of applied contexts.
Developing confidence is crucial, and research indicates that resilience and perseverance contribute significantly to success in Numeracy.

“It has been a pleasure to see our son’s confidence grow as we have worked through the resource pack that Terry gave us. He does not enjoy Maths and generally avoids doing his homework, but now he approaches the task with much more enthusiasm. His teacher has noticed a difference in his attitude towards Maths at school too and has noticed that he is more inclined to persevere when he finds things challenging. Terry, thank you for your help and support!”
